Jazz Piano Plus One is a folio of 14 original jazzy pieces, composed by John Kember, with optional upper and lower parts for your teacher or friend, adding extra dimensions to your performance. Covering a range of styles, and suitable for players of grade 3 upwards, this set of pieces offers a variety of playing options, with a melody, the chords and the bass line all provided. Begin with the tune and then progress to adding the lower parts as your teacher provides the funky accompaniments. As your playing progresses you will be able to tackle and master all three layers of music, creating your own definitive solo performance! There are extended exercises giving you a chance to master left-hand comping, adding bass lines and using rootless chords.
