The Banshee according to legend is less a shape than a mournful screaming that haunts the Irish night and the Scottish Highlands. Beneath the window of the visited house, she fortells the death of one of the family. The Banshee was commissioned by Melinda Maxwell and is dedicated to her and Richard Benjafield the percussionist at the first performance
