Cette collection présente 195 pièces et exercices soigneusement classés à vue dans divers styles musicaux, pour contrebasse solo. Adoptant une approche basée sur l’auto-apprentissage, les 11 sections du livre se concentrent sur le développement de différentes compétences techniques clés ainsi que sur l’introduction de l’étudiant à une multitude de termes musicaux.
Chaque section du livre contient des solos, ainsi que des duos de contrebasse, et des pièces accompagnées de piano pour pratiquer la lecture à vue en ensemble. Adapté aux élèves préliminaires jusqu’aux niveaux avancés. Faisant partie de la série complète Sight-Reading publiée par Schott et éditée par John Kember.
