The volume is addressed to students in the first years of any music program – Lower Secondary Schools with a Music Focus, Music High Schools, Conservatories, and public or private music schools. Main contents: • Historical introduction – a brief overview exploring the origins of the instrument, its repertoire, and construction techniques; • Basic music theory – fundamental elements of music reading, rhythm, and musical structure to support instrumental study; • Technical development – a progressive path from open strings to fourth position and beyond, with attention to sound quality and postural awareness; • Scale section – targeted exercises on two-octave scales to strengthen intonation, fluency, and coordination; • Ensemble practice – arrangements for two cellos of classical pieces of increasing difficulty to develop mutual listening and musical cohesion.
