Tango is a dance style piece for Violin and Piano, written by Poldowski. They were composed for the Violin virtuoso Pawel Kochanski (1887-1934). Poldowski was pen name oftheBelgian-British composer and pianist Regine Wieniawski, later Lady Dean Paul (1879-1932). She studied Piano at Brussels, London, and Paris, and started performed her own compositions at the age of 14.Sheinitially adopted the pseudonym in order to pose as a male, but later cast of the anonymity, even performing under the false name. She is best remembered for her chamber compositions, and the many songs she wrote, both inEnglishand in French.
