Pianist Ramon van Engelenhoven created this transcription for piano of the aria from Korngold's opera Das Wunder der Heliane out of his enthusiasm for Korngold’s music. Inspired by Liszt’s transcription of Wagner’s “Isolde's Liebestod”, he begins the aria with the opening bars of the first act as an introduction.
