Commissioned for the Shelby County (Alabama) All-County Honos Band, this work draws its title from Cahaba River, the longest free-flowing river in Alabama. The outward dances are lively and busy, reflecting the growth and prosperity où the region,while the middle section is more contemplative, portraying the areas scenic natural beauty. Magnificently scored and effectively paced.
